After several hours of research, I finally made my selection of the 5 Mini Tiller Reviews among more than thirty models existing and marketed at this time.

Professional Recommendation:

Simple and compact, this tiller will delight gardeners with a budget somewhat limited. This machine is perfect for gardeners with a garden of a small area, with a field that is not too difficult to return.

On slightly more difficult terrain with pebbles, you may have to use safety shoes and have a little bit of trouble controlling the machine because it is really powerful but it is to be expected for a machine. entry-level like this.

People unfamiliar with the use of mini tillers may take a little time before taking it in hand but at that price, hard to complain.

Beyond these minor inconveniences, this mini tiller does its job perfectly and will delight any budding gardener with a limited budget.

With its simple design and all red, it would look almost like a big toy, but do not be fooled by its appearance, this is a real tiller that will return the soil of your garden in less time do not need to say it.

Its plowing knives are powerful, some may even say a little too powerful, which sometimes makes it a bit difficult to control on a terrain a little more rugged than average.

This machine can work at a maximum width of 30 cm and guarantees a centralized working height of 20 cm which is more than enough and more than one would expect from a machine of this range.

In addition, this machine is only 7 kilos, which makes it very easy to carry!

The machine is guaranteed by the manufacturer for 2 years which is more than honest for a machine of this range.

In conclusion, despite its grip that can be somewhat difficult initially, this machine does an incredible job for an entry level cultivator and I highly recommend to aspiring gardeners who do not have a huge budget.

Troy bilt electric tiller review

troy bilt electric tiller review
troy bilt electric tiller review

What We Like:

  • polyvalent
  • Powerful engine
  • Effective plow mode

What We Don’t Like:

  • A bit expensive compared to the competition

Professional Recommendation:

This 2 in 1 power tiller from the Troy Bilt electric tiller brand can be used as a plow. By first turning the tiller in plow mode, you are able to turn the soil all the way down to bring all plant residues and other weeds to the surface.

This machine has an engine that is both environmentally friendly and powerful (208 cc engine).
It is possible to work in large gardens with this machine without having to worry about finding extension cables or even electrical connections nearby.

It is possible to adjust the depth of the working blades with ease thanks to the rear bar of this unit. The tiller is able to move easily and flexibly thanks to its forward speed and rear speed while the front wheel makes it easy to move the machine.

Indeed, once you have reached the place where you want to plow or mill, it only remains to raise the wheel to start the work.

You can adjust the height of the handle according to your needs to obtain maximum comfort, and the handle can be fixed on the left or on the right when you do a plowing and this to allow you to avoid trampling the earth to hardly plowed.
You can walk next to the plow without risking damaging your work.

The machine is very powerful with its rotation speed of 3600 min-1, which is about ten times more than the speed of some tillers in this comparison! It can work in depth up to 31 cm which is not bad but remains less than the Ruris 731.

The fuel tank is the largest in this comparison with its capacity of 3.6 liters.

This machine is excellent for large pitches and its versatility is very welcome, but high-end tiller level I prefer the Ruris 731 which offers better value for money.

How to choose your Mini tiller?

The mini tiller is designed to plow surfaces between 500 and 3000 m². If all the mini tillers plow, their intrinsic characteristics vary from one model to another and according to the surface for which they are designed and the level of comfort dedicated to the gardener.

Before buying a tiller, you should think about asking yourself a few basic questions.

The differences between a tiller and a tiller

If these two motorized devices are designed for the gardener and intended to prepare a soil, they are no less different: the tiller tills and the tiller or strawberry.

The tiller

The tiller plows with a plow. Plowing consists of turning the soil deep down by the action of a ploughshare and burying what it carries on the surface in order to prepare it for seeding. The furrow is the clear mark of the passage of the plow. And if you do not have a tiller, you will have to resort … to a spade!

The tiller

The tiller bins or mills the earth through the rotation of strawberries, which are a kind of wheels composed of claws. Hoeing (also called milling) is intended, unlike loosening the soil surface before sowing.

The different plows of a tiller

The plow is the tool that digs the furrow in the ground: its blade is called soc, which can be simple, double or tilting. There are several types of plows: the simple plow, the plow or the vine plow

The plow simple to a soc

It only allows you to plow in one direction, very visible thanks to the simple furrow. This plow forces you to go back empty, under penalty of digging a ditch, which would be really useless … and not aesthetic, what is more!

The brabant plow

It has two coulters and allows to plow his garden full by making two furrows (a go and a return so). The brabant plow can be 1/4 or 1/2 turn: at quarter, the second plow is perpendicular to the first; half, it is symmetrical which prevents the gardener to bump the knee during improper handling.

The vineyard plow

It is a share and can be tilted to the left or right depending on the desired path, it allows plowing in both directions.

The wheels

The wheels, called agrarian wheels because of agricultural use, facilitate the use of the tiller. The larger and wider the wheels, the less the tiller sinks into the soft ground (and is therefore more manageable). Also, and given the power and such machines, masses designed to weigh down the wheels prevent them from spinning (they usually oscillate around 10 kilos).

The budget

The first, and for many gardeners, is the most important question is about your budget. Money does not grow on trees, so we do not all have the money to buy a top-of-the-range tiller.

The price of these devices can vary from single to double as you will see in this comparison. The most important thing is to find a model that fits your budget without sacrificing too much efficiency.

Buying a cheaper tiller that turns out to be too small or not powerful enough is money thrown out the window.

On the other hand, spending hundreds of dollars on a machine that is far too powerful for your small garden is also a waste of money. It is therefore a question of finding the best compromise between price and efficiency.

The size of your garden

The size of the garden plays a vital role in determining which type of tiller fits your needs. If you have a small garden, consider buying a smaller electric tiller (such as the entry-level tillers that do their job perfectly) rather than a gas powered tiller.

If your garden is bigger, then you will have to think about investing in a machine that will be able to work for a long time and cover a large area. In this case a gas powered tiller is very probably the best choice.

The type of soil

If you are lucky enough to have a good clay soil rich in organic matter and that is relatively empty of any weed, congratulations!

You can get by buying a less powerful tiller that is easier to use and especially cheaper.

If your soil is heavy, full of gravel, compact or full of rocks, you will need a more powerful tiller.

Are you working on new soil or re-plowing?

Working on new soil is difficult and that’s why you will need a powerful tiller to help you. If you are re-plowing, then a smaller machine, such as the mini electric tiller, may be enough for your needs.

The accessories

Some tillers come with different types of accessories. If you are looking for a “multi-tool” tiller with a whole range of accessories then this will have to play a key role in your choice.

A steerable handlebar

From bottom to top and from left to right for a better comfort of use.

Counterweight

Located at the front of the machine, it aims to balance the distribution of the mass and facilitate maneuvers.

Two speeds

These must be forward and backward. However, it is good to know that some tillers have two speeds forward plus one rear.

Tillers mounted on a tiller

The strawberries loosen the ground and so that they can turn freely, it is first necessary to dismount plow, wheels and counterweight of your tiller that plows. Mounted below the motor, the cutters are driven by a gearbox located at the lower motor and their rotation is ensured by a transmission that can be chain, belt or gable.

Just keep in mind that the same selection criteria are to use to buy a versatile tiller as traditional. Do not sacrifice quality for versatility. Mini Tiller Reviews.
